Humanities is a Better Major than Most People Think

I remember a joke we used to tell in the 1990s. It went something like, "Architects ask, 'What do you want done?' Engineers ask 'How do you want it done?' and Humanities majors ask, 'Do you want fries with that?'"

It was a funny joke but it isn't true. Humanites majors do better in the marketplace than you might think.

More than 2,700 Lone Star College students impacted by new loan rates


Unless Congress makes a deal when it reconvenes, more than 2,700 Lone Star College students will face twice the interest rates on student loans than last year.

That’s the number of new federally subsidized Stafford loans that have been dispersed to student accounts in the Lone Star College system since interest rates doubled to 6.8 percent on July 1.
