Blog threads for online students

For 1301 "U.S. to 1877," your blog will discuss the following two video clips. How do the different points of view expressed in these video clips agree with each other? How do they disagree. How do they relate to the textbook treatment of ancient American peoples?

The Confederates, just as Chief Joseph and the Nez Perce, were both under threat of having their homestead taken over by others with different views and outlooks. Both the Confederates and the Nez Perce went to battle in an attempt to protect themselves, their land, the heritage which they had grown to know. When a culture tries to force themselves upon another culture, they can only expect to be met with animosity and resentment. I also believe that past and present media imagery projections of both African American and American Indian cultures has aided in the expansion of ill feelings towards these as well as other ethnicities.
